As an electric cooperative, ECE works hard to keep rates low, while still maintaining a reliable distribution system. In addition to our standard general service rate, we also offer many reduced-rate programs to save you money.
Our Current Rates (as of March 2018)
Here is a quick, easy way to check our current rates and any necessary fees. We've broken our rates into seasons and per kilowatt-hour. Please let us know if you have any questions.
-
Monthly cost of basic service charge is $30.25.
-
Winter (September - May) energy charge is 12.49 cents per kilowatt-hour.
-
Summer (June, July and August) charge is 14.38 cents per kilowatt-hour.
Summary of residential rates, including load management rates
Summer energy charges: Energy charges are higher in June, July and August because demand peaks during those months drive up power costs and require added investments to serve the higher demand.
Cost of basic: Every residential account is charged a cost of basic service charge. This fee is necessary to cover ongoing expenses associated with delivering and maintaining service to a location.
Power Cost Adjustment: A charge implemented when necessary to recoup wholesale power costs beyond what is included in the current rates. This charge may vary throughout the year.
To help avoid those peaks and save money through conservation, check out ECE reduced rate programs section of the web site for programs such as Energy Storage Water Heating. Call 1-800-254-7944 to speak with an energy expert and discover how to squeeze the most out of your electricity dollars.
