Setting goals is an important step in realizing our dreams, both personally and professionally. Organizations must also keep their eyes on the horizon, and they do it through strategic planning. But before we can develop a plan to achieve our goals, we need to understand where we are and where we are going. Once we understand those two things, we craft a path from our current location to our future destination.
At ECE we have defined our destination, or vision, in three distinct categories. The first is our team, which starts with the board of directors and flows through the entire organization. We have dedicated ourselves to safety as a way of life, defined how we interact with one another, and prioritized offering professional development to all employees. People are the most important resource at our cooperative and we are intentional about helping them be their best.
The next category is the product we offer. Obviously that’s electricity, but we offer much more than just the electrons flowing through our lines at the speed of light.
We design programs and rates with members’ needs in mind, offer exceptional service, and use technology to improve our business practices and enhance the value our members get from their co-op.
Finally, we are focused on relationships. The most important external relationship is with our members. ECE exists to provide safe and reliable electricity to those we serve. We also have critical relationships with elected officials, other utilities in the industry, and stakeholders with important expectations about the way we provide our services. We will continue to develop and strengthen each of these valuable relationships.
It is our intention to continue to respond to changing needs and lifestyle priorities, while bringing value to the lives of our members in new and improved ways—that’s the heart of our vision.
At your service we remain,
Justin
