The electric vehicle advantage

They’re energy-efficient, low maintenance and environmentally friendly. Electric vehicles (EVs) represent a new era in transportation and a viable choice for new car buyers.

Home charging and time-of-use rates
We offer a $500 rebate to install a level 2 charger at your home, either on our time-of-use rates or our off-peak storage rate. Our three-tier, time-of-use rates provide the greatest flexibility. You can charge your EV for 7 cents per kWh on weekends and holidays and from 9 p.m. to 10 a.m. on weekdays. Additional details are available on our website.

Fuel cost comparison
A gallon of unleaded gas delivers 33 times more energy than one kilowatt-hour of electricity, but an electric motor is three times more efficient than a gas-powered engine; it uses one-third the energy or a ratio of 11-1. At our off-peak charging rate of 7 cents per kWh, you’d have to pay 77 cents per gallon of gas to equal the savings.

Powered with wind energy
If you own a plug-in electric vehicle or a plug-in hybrid, sign up to power your vehicle with 100 percent wind energy. We’ll dedicate wind energy credits on your behalf, for the lifetime of your vehicle, completely offsetting the energy used to power your EV. There’s no extra cost to participate in the Revolt program.

Tax credit available
The federal government offers a tax credit to help lower the upfront cost of buying an EV. The amount varies by the type of vehicle you purchase. Visit fueleconomy.gov to learn more.
