Coal Creek Tour
Each year, we sponsor a bus tour to Coal Creek Station, located about 50 miles north of Bismarck, North Dakota, near Underwood. This is one of the world's largest and cleanest lignite coal-fired power plants and it's where we buy most of our power. Coal Creek Station uses about 22,000 tons of lignite per day. The highlight of this three-day trip is the tour of Coal Creek Station and Falkirk Mine - supplier of the lignite coal.
Cost for the tour is $260 per couple (double occupancy), $190 per person (single occupancy).
Tour package includes:
- Two-night accommodations
- Roundtrip motorcoach bus transportation
- Refreshments for the bus ride
- Lunch on day one and two
- Other historic points of interest
The 2017 Coal Creek Tour is September 12 - 14. Reservations are first-come, first-served basis. For more information or to sign up, call Cindy Rolain, 1-800-254-7944, ext. 2022.
